Description
The sensor has a resistor internally connected between the red and black terminals as its sensing element. The sensor is fused with a multifuse. The current sensor must be connected in series with an element of the circuit.
Current sensor BT23i is specially designed for accurate measurement of electrical current between -1 and +1 A.
Technical specifications:
- Measuring range: -1000 .. 1000 mA
- Resolution: 0.5 mA
- Max. voltage: 50 V
- Maximum measuring frequency: 100 kHz (CoachLab II+, WiLab) / 1 MHz (VinciLab 2)
- Warranty: 36 months
More specifications of the current sensor are described in the Current Sensor manual, see downloads.
Examples of physics experiments:
- Battery life
- Current measurement when charging and discharging capacitors
- Measuring current characteristics of a lamp or a diode
- Properties of electrical components, e.g. a light bulb, a diode, a light-dependent resistor
- Measuring serial and parallel circuits
- In combination with a voltage sensor, this current sensor can be used to measure the relationship between current and voltage (Ohm’s law).
The Current sensor can be connected to the analog BT inputs of the CMA interfaces.
Please note: the sensor cable BT – IEEE1394 required to connect the sensor to these interfaces is not supplied with the sensor and can be ordered separately (BTsc_1 or BTsc_1Short)
